Question:
How do I find a decorator just to assist with window treatments? We love our area rug, a Karastan of blues and tans with chestnut accents, our leather couch and recliner are in chestnut, our walls are Ralph Lauren’s Plateau. I want a textured curtain with wooden blinds on main window in family room. Would love tweed, I have looked extensively on internet, but I need to consult someone who knows the industry and can look at what we have done and suggest something specific that will work.

Many window treatment studios have window fashion specialists that will help you to choose the right fabric and drapery style along with the best wood blinds type for your room. Contact them and ask if they can send a specialist to your home to assist you with your window. They usually bring samples and fabric swatches with them. You may ask also to view their portfolio – it’s a good way to determine if their style fits your taste. Or, you can take a picture of your room, and send to them along with description of your preferences and then ask them to send you fabric swatches to choose.
