Hardwood Flooring Color

Hi,
My question is this. My husband and I just purchased our dream bedroom suite. It is a sleigh bed with matching dressers in a beautiful dark cherrywood. We would like to replace our flooring to hardwood. Should we pick something similar in cherrywood or choose something else. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Congratulation on your dream bedroom suite! I’m sure, with hardwood flooring it will look even more beautiful, since it really the best choice for any bedroom. As to its color, it depends only on your taste and preferences. You may either choose the same dark cherrywood as your furniture made of or select a completely different color as well.
When looking for the right wood flooring take in consideration several things.
The room’s size and its color scheme. Remember that a large amount of dark color make a room look visually smaller. To minimize this effect you may place light color rugs and bedding.
Your bedroom suite appearance. On a similar color flooring it might look not so bold, but on the other hand such floor would join the entire room’s decor.
With the lighter floor color (honey, for example) your furniture may create a beautiful contrast (the lighter floor’s color the stronger the contrast).
