Need Advice About
Sliding Glass Door Window Treatments

Question:
Hello, I’m hoping to get some advice on what to do with the windows and sliding doors in the living room of my home with a water view. I've tried to keep the decor light and cottagey. Here is what the room looks like thus far:
White sofa, wood floors, warm khaki walls (Martha Stewart Bentwood), white trim, wood ceiling. 1 dark brown rattan chair, green pillows/accents. Sisal rug with black border, black coffee table, black entertainment cabinet.
There are several windows and 2 sliding glass doors. I've made white linen relaxed roman shades for the windows. Now I'm stuck on the sliding doors. I've decided on drapes with grommet tops so they can be easily slid to the side, plus I feel grommets are sort of casual which is what I"m going for. Should I continue with the white? Do white drapes with a wide green border at the bottom? Go for something different? I've been looking and looking at fabrics but I can't find anything just right. For awhile I was leaning toward green and white stripes, but I think it would be too bold.
Thanks in advance!
Answer:
I think you have several options:
You may go with white curtains and add green border that complement your khaki walls. But instead of bottom border I would add not so wide side borders. It would add interest to curtains and would blend with entire room interior.
Another option – since your room is mostly in green and white, you may add an additional color that works well with them. I mean that you shouldn’t look only for white or green curtains. You may find beautiful fabric, for example, in light salmon or pale yellow (they work well with white and khaki). It would brighten the entire room. You may add some cushions from the same or coordinated fabric to complement such curtains.
The third option - you can get white curtains with green patterns that gently blend with your room’s color scheme.
Hope it helps,
