My daughter's room has four large windows, three on one side, one on the other and there is too much light in the room, especially in the very early mornings. We bought sheer purple/lavender curtains as that is her favorite color. What color and/or type of curtains can we hang behind the sheer purple curtains that will block a lot of the light, look good and not take away from the look of the sheer purple? We plan to use double rods.
Thanks, Ann

Hi Ann,
It’s so nice to have several windows in a room, especially in a kid’s room. But you are right, the large amount of light coming into it may cause a real problem. For better light control, I would recommend to add window blinds or shades with good light blockage feature, such as wood blinds or roman shades. If you get them in white or cream color, they won’t interfere with your purple sheers. But if you decide to go with curtains, you may find ones that do the same job. Look for blackout curtains or those that are made of opaque fabric. As for their color, you may choose from a range of tones that won’t take away from your sheer curtains:
White/cream/beige/gold drapes made of opaque fabric
Light blue or turquoise curtains may give an additional interest to your sheers
Colors similar to your sheer curtains but lighter in tone – light magenta or lilac will complement your existing window treatment.
Hope it will help you to choose the best window treatment for your daughter’s room. Alina
